Mineral Scale and Corroded Drains in Nashville and Middle Tennessee
Common problem

Mineral Scale and Corroded Drains

Rust, scale and mineral deposits slowly shrink old drain lines until water has barely any room to flow.

Old galvanized and cast iron pipes rust from the inside. Rough rust nodules and mineral deposits narrow the bore and give grease and paper something to catch on, so clogs become more frequent as the pipe ages.

Hydro jetting removes loose scale and restores much of the pipe diameter, but heavily corroded pipe can be thin and fragile. A camera shows whether cleaning will help or whether replacing sections is the smarter plan, and we explain your options honestly.

Questions

Scale & Corrosion FAQ

Can scale be removed?

Loose scale and soft deposits can be jetted away. Hard rust nodules may need mechanical cutting or replacement.

Is cast iron going to fail?

It can last many decades, but it eventually corrodes through, especially at the bottom of the pipe.

Should I replace all of it?

Not always. A camera helps us recommend the sections that need it.
