A brand-new pipe pulled through the path of the old one: full replacement with minimal digging.
Pipe bursting replaces an old pipe with a new one in the same path. A bursting head is pulled through the old pipe, breaking it outward into the surrounding soil, while a new, continuous pipe, usually HDPE, is pulled in behind it. It requires just two small pits, one at each end.
It is a strong choice when a pipe is too damaged for lining, for example, collapsed, severely cracked or made of fragile material like Orangeburg or clay, and when you want a full replacement without trenching your yard. We assess soil, nearby utilities and pipe depth before recommending it.
